The title for this game is slightly miss leading. This is actually an educational game to help prevent alcohol abuse in young adults just starting college.

Under the assumption that “play” is more fun than “work” – this game was designed to replace workshops and presentations formerly used to “teach” students about drinking. Instead, students play the game in teams, win prizes and in the process discover how, when and why they drink. The result: purposeful and conscious decisions around alcohol use.

We had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Winters on this game and wish her much success with it.

Fun Fact: 
Research shows that students are at greatest risk of problematic drinking during the first few weeks of school when anxieties about fitting in and becoming comfortable are at their height. Playing "The Drinking Game" in Living and Learning Communities, First Year Residence Halls, and University 101 (or other Intro to College classes) provides a proactive approach to alcohol use and fosters student to student connection.

We are in the process of obtaining sponsorships for our Bucks County Opoly game. We displayed at the Bucks County Expo a few weeks ago and have been going full speed ahead ever since.

 A study done by the College of William and Mary in 2009 found that diverting these
uninsured patients away from emergency rooms could save a local hospital
more than $500,000 a year, as these services usually go uncompensated.
According to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, the
economic impact of organizations like HealthLink is such that for every $1000
invested in our clinic, there is a $3000 return in the community.

How To Make Your Own Custom Board Game

So many people have board game idea's, but don't know where to start to bring them to life. See below for a simple check list to get started. These are by FAR not all of the possible options, but they are the most common and may help you jump start your game.

The Field - Board, Card, Dice or a combination of the three.
The Type - Roll Playing, Strategy, Trivia, Skill, Multi-player, Chance etc.
Materials Needed - Board, Cards, Pawns, Dice, Spinner, Chips, Box, Instructions,
Sizes - Choose your board, card, box, playing piece or chip size along with qty.
Design - Once you have everything set you are ready to start designing your game.

If you aren't a graphic designer there is no need to worry, there are plenty of resources out there to help design your game that won't break your bank. One of the most popular places we recommend is 99 designs, they have designers available for all budgets. There are also several other places to find freelance artists. 521 Promo also offers full design and prototype capabilities.

After you have your game designed it's now time to get a prototype for play testing. Since play testing can provide MANY changes in the game we would recommend creating a simple version using paper and foam board or index cards before paying for a professional prototype. After the play testing stage and all changed have been made you are ready for quotes and a professional prototype to show investors or even feature in your Kickstarter video, if you have one. If funding is not a problem then you are ready to move forward in the ordering process.

From there we would send you proofs, once the proofs are approved we would proceed with production. A standard turn around time for board games is about 10 weeks. Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser

We wanted to take a moment and extend our thoughts for those effected by hurricane Sandy last week.
